Weber Go Anywhere Review: Making Outdoor Grilling Easy, Portable, and Affordable

Searching for a grill that won’t weigh you down and is designed to travel simply and easily? Take a closer look at the Weber Go Anywhere series!

Weber was founded by George Stephen in 1952. Inspired by cooking know-how and the shape of a buoy he invented the first kettle grill. Now, 60+ years later Weber is continuing to take the innovative, common sense spirit of its founder to new levels.

The company is well respected for their exceptionally high quality construction and design. Weber knows that you don’t always need a huge grill with tons of dials, settings, and attachments.

Sometimes you just need something solid, easy to use, and reliable – that won’t break the bank. Whether it’s decked out in features, or spartan all of Weber’s grills are highly durable and reliable

But with so many amazing grill options to choose from, how do you know which Weber might be the best for your purposes?

That’s where our Weber Go Anywhere review comes in. In this article we’re going to give you the specs, pros & cons, an in-depth review, and the important takeaways for the Weber Go Anywhere series.

Weber Go Anywhere Review

Weber Go Anywhere: Review & Breakdown

First off, we absolutely love the design of these travel grills. They’re super sturdy and made from high quality materials like steel and rust-resistant aluminum.

The fold up legs do a great job of securing the lid, so you won’t be dropping grill parts all over your toes in transport. It’s small enough to fit in a trunk, and lightweight enough to be stored on a shelf in between outings.

They don’t have frills, which makes them that much easier to pack, set up, and breakdown. Go Anywhere doesn’t quite cut it – it’s a store, stash, carry, and cook anywhere too!

The same durable, simple design is available in both charcoal and propane fuel types. The real head turner is that both these grills are under $60.

And all the parts are under warranty, so it will last. With Weber you know that you’re making the most of your hard earned money.

A feature that all Weber’s share is the ease with which you can purchase quality accessories from the company’s website. Like the grate lifter that allows you to bring coals closer to your food when you need it and use less fuel.

And we love the grilling basket for fish and delicate vegetables, which closes around ingredients so you can turn them without breaking apart.

One of the few downsides we noticed was with the propane version of this handy little grill. The gas powered Weber Go Anywhere lacks a grease pan, and the holes in the bottom have a lip which does not allow them to effectively drain the grease that way.

Without a grease pan, it becomes a bit laborious to clean and maintain. The burners are awkward to try to clean around, and it’s just a pain in the neck. Also, the small amount of grease that can buildup slightly increases the likelihood of small grease fires.

The extra attention to clean up is not a deal breaker in our opinion, but it is something to keep in mind.

On the other hand, the charcoal version is incredibly easy to clean on the occasions that you need to. It’s simple to disassemble and fits in most kitchen sinks, making clean up a total breeze.

Charcoal does take longer to prep and preheat than gas, however. So, there are small trade offs between either model.

If you want super easy start up and operation, or want to be able to take your grill to areas with charcoal restrictions perhaps the propane Go Anywhere is best. But, if you hate cleaning grease and don’t mind the slight

A feature that all Weber’s share is the ease with which you can purchase accessories and upgrades for your grill from the company’s website. Like the grate lifter that allows you to bring coals closer to your food when you need it and use less fuel.

And we love the grilling basket for fish and delicate vegetables, which closes around ingredients so you can turn them without breaking apart.

Whether it’s camping in the middle of the woods, grilling out by the beach, or just making the most of a warm day in your backyard the Weber Go Anywhere grill has you covered.

It’s a little on the small side, but serves 2-3 people easily. It may not be a good choice for big families. But for a simple, portable grill with great performance we can’t recommend Weber’s Go Anywhere series highly enough.
